Re: Sony DSC F707 error e::61:10

The smacking method also works for the dreaded C13:01 message (Memory Stick Access - camera won't access the memory stick media). You can find 13 pages of entries about that problem on this forum. I have the F707 and was going to use it to photograph a wedding Saturday. The only remedy in the manual is to remove and reinsert the MS several times. That didn't work. Neither did any of the other "scientific" solutions people had recommended. When I got to the wedding I smacked it lightly on the edge of a table a couple of times. Back in business!!! Sony should include the smacking remedy in their manuals.

I teach Videography in high school and tried the smacking methold after trying everything else. I can't believe it, but it worked! The error message was still on the camera though until I took off battery and smacked it again. Message is gone and camera works fine. I wonder if people smack their Toyotas they will stop accelerating at random times....

Oh man! That seriously worked! At first I was just hitting it really hard against the counter and had no luck. I had brought my camera (DSC-T1) to the beach a few weeks ago and I figured maybe I got sand in it so I opened it up and sprayed canned air into it but to no avail. I didn't know what else to do so I just SLAMMED it on the side of the camera really, really hard against the counter, turned it back on and WHAM! It works just fine now! I'm so happy! Yippie!
