I also have a similar problem with my JVC GR-SXM260U where every thing runs fine on AC but suddenly it will not run on battery only. This occured first after an overnight charge. The battery tests okay. I would sure like to know the cause and remedy. In the mean time I will try a new battery to see what happens.

I have the same exact problem? What gives? We all need to contact the company and complain together since there seems to be a trend with this particular model. Otherwise we are all going to get stuck with a huge bill for repair, when it seems obvious that this is a material defect in the product. Plz contact me directly and I will be more than happy to consolidate our complaints and contact JVC. Thanx...Rene'

I, too, have the same problem. One repair facility (JVC Authorized) told me that if you leave the battery on the camera it will "fry" the charging circuitry. What has everyone done about their cameras?

I have the GR-D90U and my old battery wouldnt take or hold a charge it only worked if it was plugged in. Now i bought a new battery and it seems to work fine so far. I dont know though because I havent turned it on for over like 20 mins so i have no idea.

I have the same camera, jvc grd90u and I've never had a battery problem. I use the 5 hour battery, which is larger than the one that comes with the camera. Mine, however, suffers from the "condensation" message, the rainbow LCD, and whenever I try to load a tape it immediately pops back out.

I have had battery issues as well. It seems that I have to charge the battery immediately before I want to use it. That is the least of my problems right now though. I cannot get the camera to work at all. The "lens cap" message will not turn off whether it is on or off and recently there are static lines across the lcd screen as well. It will still play the tapes on the lcd screen, so my guess is that there is problem with lens. ???

Hi, I have a similar problem, my camcorder doesn't charge the battery, but with AC everything works fine, the voltage of batery is about 1v, this is too low for the 6V DC Battery, but whet I measure the contact's battery in camcorder is about -3v with reverse polarity, I guees that the power souce in camcorder is out of order, and the circuir can't swich from the refresh mode to the charge mode....really I don't knows what happens when I put in a new charged battery...and if exist some method to solve the problem

I recently bought GR-DV500 mini DV. Everything OK. I would like to know the speed of the transfer of vedio & audio signal from camcoder to PC through USB port is faster or DV port is faster. Because USB cable having very low speed and the vedio quality is detoriating after downloded to PC. Bright vedio becomeing dark faded like... Help me by suggesting which cable will give good result..

    Dear JVC Team,
the above JVC camcorder worked fine all the time so far. However, gradually over the last few weeks the ability to switch the camcorder to 'PLAY' mode from 'OFF' disappeared. While it is fine to put the camcorder to 'A' (automatic recording) or 'M' (manual recording) mode, setting it to 'PLAY' only lights up the respective red LED and after a few seconds the camcorder switches off completely. Could this be a problem with an internal battery which may have to be replaced (a sort of buffer for certain settings which may have only a limited lifespan of a few years)? Have you got any solution how to fix this weird behaviour? Thanks for your suggestions!

I have a JVC digital video camera, Model GR-D90u. It was working fine as far as I know. I had just downloaded pix onto my laptop. I went down to film some video and the camera was dead. I changed batteries, still dead, and tried a/c power, still dead. Batteries are good, adaptor puts out power. I walked thru a casino in Vegas. Could the slots and other electrical items have caused a problem? Is there a reset or fuse?
    Thanks,
    Bob

Same Digital Mini-Camcorder JVC Model GR-D90U - - I have pretty much the same problem. When I plug in the AC adapter the charge/power lights up, but the camera is dead, and on top of that there is a tape cartridge stuck in the half-way eject phase. The tape cartridge side is open and I can't get the camera to do anything. Any suggestions? anybody?

Did anyone find a solution to this problem. My camera just quit on me. I had used it for 2 hours today and it had no apparent trauma. Is it possible that it overheated? No power when using a charged battery or the plug in. Thanks.

Sent this thing to JVC twice for repairs. Now having whole new problem - which I'm learning is not uncommon to other JVC camcorders of this type. CONDENSATION, OPERATION PAUSED - - PLEASE WAIT. This device has been so diappointing to us; we've missed capturing so many opportunities and events with our kids fotting around with this piece if junk - - - JVC has seen the last $ ever from me.

I have the same camera with the same problem out of warranty and am looking to buy a new camera so i figured i would rip it to shreds to find a solution... Still poking around in there and nothing. I'm thinking of changing some of the components on the power circuit but there's no physical markings or anything. If I come across anything I will post it here... but as far as i know theres nothing that can be done but a professional repair or just plain replacing the unit.

has anyone figured this power issue out as of yet. Apparently ours is dead with a tape stuck in it. I would really like to save that tape? Any suggestions to salvage the tape I would love, because apparently the power issue doesn't have a solution. Thanks1

Repairing these chassi cost usually about $135.00 Canadian Dollars for power problem as described here. Bring them to JC Electronics, www.magma.ca/~jc00 and enjoy you set again.

I have purchased a JVC Portable VCD Radio Cassette Recorder with MP3 Model No.RC-BX75VWT from JVC Sales & Service (M) Sdn Bhd, Selangor, Malaysia during January 2003.

The player is running well. However, while running MP3, I have experienced an occasional “skip” while listening to MP3-CD.

To confirm the quality of MP3 CD, I have tested the same in SONY and Samsung System and the MP3 CD is running normal and an occasional “skip” does not arise. Also, I have checked few MP3 CDs, the same problem is occurred while running all MP3 CD. It is understood that the MP3 feature is not working properly in the system.

Hence, I would request you to suggest Why the problem is occurred in my Player? and How to rectify the same?. Whether the Player can be repaired thro’ your nearby Authorised Service Centre:
    MIRC ELECTRONICS LTD.
    10, B.K.R. Nagar, Sathy Road,Coimbatore , 641012 ,
    Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu)- INDIA
    Tel: (91) 0422-2522-892
    Fax: (91) 0422-2522-902

If so, please advice them to check the player and correct the defects, at free of cost.

Can you please provide the above details to my email?
