I had this problem on my Sony and this fix did not work. It made it worse, the camera wouldn't even turn on without pulling the battery out everytime. After trying some other things I finally sent it to repair at Teleplan Camera Repair. They did a good job and customer service was great. At TeleplanCameraRepair.com they offer a free quote online.
