Re[2]: Sony Trinitron TVs

Bridgette Posted May 11, 2010, in response to:Jeannie

I have the same problem with the blinking. my husband contacted sony about it and they said it had to be reset with the remote unfortunatly we dont have the remote someone gave us the tv and has lost it. then they went on to tell us that we could go pick up a new one from an authorized dealer. we live in nashville the "closest" dealer is either illinois or indiana, but theres a man certified in this particular brand who makes house calls all across the U.S. but it would cost us $80 just to come this way and he could bring us a new remote. Lovely huh?

I have a sony trinitron HD that is only 8 - 10 years old. The "stand by" blinking red light located next to the power button stays lit, but no picture, no sound. Then the next day I tried it and it went on. Third day, no picture. This thing is too big to lug out of the house, nor do I want to spend the money to fix it, especially reading about everyone else!
