Re: Sony Trinitron TVs

Connie Posted Apr 27, 2010, in response to:anonymous

Bought our Sony KV-40XBR800 about 7 or 8 yrs ago. Last week out of nowhere the tv would not come on, it would make the usual noise as if it was coming on but the screen remained black, and would flash anywhere from 4 to 7 blinks. Turned it on and off about a hundred times and it finally came back on so we left it on for a couple days. Turned it off and haven't gotten it to come back on since. Tried unplugging for 4 hours, switched outlets, hit reset and ON at the same time on the remote, and last but not least the blowdryer. NONE OF IT WORKED!!! This really seems like a defect with all the similar problems everyone else seems to be having. We just purchased, GULP, another Sony 55" Flatscreen Bravia LCD. We have never had problems with and of our other Sony products before. We did buy the extended 4 yr. warranty. I sure hope we don't regret it. Sony, you should deal with this problem. You have A LOT of dissatisfied customers. What a shame.
