Well, and said with all due respect, if as I suspect you are not a technically inclined person then I would strongly advise you in the interests of not making the situation any worse "not" attempting to try and effect a repair, as it involves carefully taking the casing off to access a ribbon cable that runs under the top of the chassis that connects the CCD to the video PCB, a bad connection on one end not exactly being unheard of, and if it is that all it requires is the ribbon cable to be re-seated into its socket.
Regarding the mode switch, this has to be accessed then tested for continuity using an ohmmeter.
