HomeGR-DF450 Safe Mode Error Code: 02 My NEW out of the box GR-DF450U is experiencing several problems. 1) When powered up I get a message stating the camera is operating in "Safe Mode". The error code is: 02. I have removed and replaced the battery several times, to no avail. 2) When I open the tape compartment the tape tray does not extend to accept the tape. 3) I also get a "lens cap" error message. These seem to be the problems at the top of the list right now.

Well I can say that as far as the E-02 error code is concerned that in most cases is caused by a problem with the cassette tape drive spindles, this usually being because of a sticky tape so another must always be tried, however the lens cap one is another thing altogether and is something that many DF model owners suffered from due to a defect in either the image sensor or in some cases the mode switch. You cannot really do anything about the latter as its always a repair job. |
