Homehelp with an error message we have not seen before on one of our sony uvw-1800 we are getting error 02-078. have not seen this one bofore and haveing trouble finding out what it means. if someone could help it would be much appreciated, thanks.

02-078 error code points to a problem with the takeup reel motor in the deck. In this case, the error means that the motor is drawing too much current. This could be caused by a defective motor, a bad tape, a problem in the motor control circuitry, etc. Difficult to troubleshoot without opening the deck and examinig the mechanism. |
