Home | Previous messageStacy - you still out there? I found your name and forum post via google. I have a HD-56G647 that a purchased a few years ago. I have purchased a sound bar to add to the system and I want to enable the digital audio out of the set. However, when I go the DIGITAL SETUP menu and select the -> arrow to select Dolby Digital the TV screen goes blank - none of the buttons work for about 30 seconds and then it appears to come back to the "TV input" input selection.......it is as if the digital setup option is invalid and causes the system to reset? is there a microcode update needed for the set? Please advise

As Gilda would say ."never mind"...I think I have figured out my problem by closely reading the manual. For the digital sound out to work - I must be doing digital signaling in. For this particular connection to my cable box I am using the composite video connection in and therefore I don't thing the digital out menu will work. I will look at other connection options but my quickest fix is to use the digital out from the cable box (rather than the TV).
