Surely if you purchased the camcorder brand new then there would have been some form of warranty on it? however if it was new but the warranty expired before you found out about the defect I am quite sure that if you contacted JVC customer services of wherever you are located (US or parts of Canada?) they would be sympathetic to a "goodwill" repair. (purchase receipt essential though!)

    If you actually phone up their customer services department appropriate to where ever you are located and be prepared, if required!!, to show proof of the "new" purchased item they always assist. Its inadvisable to try and contact them any other way, as like most main brands they arent really equipped to answer e-mail type enquiries. ------------------------------------------------------------------- USA models - camcorders with US suffix.     well there is no customer support.they don't reply at all.i amnot the only one that complains abouth this problem.
