I thought this was the craziest thing I ever heard of...until I tried it! I have a Sony DSC-P52. I just spent about 15 minutes tapping and whacking at different angles and velocities and surfaces (while turned off). Finally I slammed it down hard (it wasn't doing me any good as it was, so I figured I had nothing to lose...) on our solid wood dining table, just flat on the base. The memory stick went flying across the floor, but when I finally got it all back together...no error message and no clicking noise when I use the zoom. Woo hoo! Thanks!
