HomeDownloading movies from my recorder to my PC Are their drivers availible for my PC to allow downloading from my recorder or am I wasting my time. I have a shoebox full of tapes and would like to upload them to my PC. Fire wire part # 1394 still would not allow for transfer from camera to PC.

With Firewire you shouldn't really need any dedicated software apart from normal video capture features as found in most commercially available types. It should be said that the PC itself can cause problems dependant on the type of Firewire board fitted and also whatever operating system your PC is running on. Also note that DV cable should be connected first to the PC, then the camcorder. |
