Do you get any error code number showing on the LCD? as this is of great assistance to help point to the area the fault is in.
However if there is no code showing the fault can be for any reason, this ranging from a faulty cassette being used to much more dastardly reasons requiring the case to be separated for investigation.
Its also of interest to know if you can load or eject any cassette that may be in the camcorder?

Yes I get an error code 04, I have trouble ejecting but once I do, I replace it and try to reinsert and the tape will not insert into the camera once in place and the top is closed.
I tried another new JVC tape and I tried an old tape to just play it. I am so upset because I have so many tapes of my kids, vacations, etc. and I want to be able to play them again. I appreciate any assistance. I also tried cleaning the heads as I read this could help with alcohol and a q-tip. didn't work. Tried replacing the battery. Nothing.
