I have a jvc mini dv model GR-DVL805. Got the Error E04 yesterday during my christmas day as my grandson was opening presents Had to stop camera. Could not fix until I used your method And Hoorah It worked I just firmly hit it 3 times, and now it works. Thanks for the Help I know I must clean the heads before using again Hope that is a permanent fix. Sometimes force will prevail Rich
