JVC AV-48WP74 and AV-56WP74 uses the same Convergence Chip and they tend to go down after about 2 yrs. of normal usage. I have 2 of AV-56WP74 at home and I replaced the Conv. chips on both twice already. In fact, I just changed the Conv. chip on one a couple of days ago. So far, no Resistors has been replaced yet. Btw, it is very important to use Thermal Compound. DIY is ok if you know how to do it properly, otherwise you might cause more damage.
