Re: Convergence problems on AV-48WP30

gary Posted Feb 19, 2008, in response to:Mark Venable

Trying to fix a TV for my recently departed friends widow; red convergance suddenly shifted aprox 1.5 inches to the left, and unable to compensate enough using convergance menu adjustments. My friend researched the problem & ordered a new DV board. Replaced DV board last night, zero difference in the problem. Purchased a manual today and discovered no troubleshooting info/tips, nor physical means to adjust centerline of red gun. Can service-level coarse convergance compensate for the problem, or is the TV dumpster ready? I believe a tech service call fee exceeds the value of the set. Thanks.

I'm having a similar problem with my JVC AV-48WP30. The red is to the left about 1 1/2". I can adjust the blue vertically and horizontally, but I can only adjust the red vertically. Can someone please help me with this or is it time to junk the TV? Thanks in advance!
