Re: JVC AV-32750 TV Will Not Turn On

Robert Posted Feb 02, 2008, in response to:Rob Durbin

Hi, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to whomever started this discussion and a BIG THANK YOU to the person or persons who replied with the fix. I also wanted to add that the mother board which is the main printed ciruit board has a (+) polarity mark on the component side. The capacitor that i purchased at Radio Shack had a longer lead on the (+) side, so the long lead gooes in the (+) and it also had a (-) on the side of the capacitor. If you have to disconnect the ribbon connectors from the board i would suggest taking a picutre with a digital camera or video recorder (why didnt i think of that when i was doing mine) so that you will know how to reconnect. Hint: all of the ribbon cables connect back up to the main board and most of them have a letter (ex. U,T, etc.) CAUTION: Use caution around the picture tube on any TV as it stores a HIGH VOLTAGE. I would suggest taking a air hose or leaf blower and blowing the dust out around the picture tube rather than trying to clean with a cloth.
