JVC AV-32750 TV Will Not Turn On

Rob Durbin Posted Nov 24, 2005

When I press the power button the red power light illuminates for 1 Second and then goes out. TV is 6 years old and does not come on. JVC may have shipped Thousands of this model, but most don't know to post. This is my last JVC

Obiviously JVC has a problem with this model they don't want to take responsibility for. When you read the messages on this site it is only logical that they are but a small fraction of customers who have had this same bad experience. Most customers don't know where to post their comments, so JVC should not take comfort as to our number on this site. I used to be a loyal JVC customer and recommend their brand to my friends, but not any longer. I plan to tell my bad experience to everybody I know considering purchase of any electronic product that is produced and/or sold by JVC.

I have a different model but same problem. HERE IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME I contact JVC and was told to first make sure your cable box or whatever you use to normally watch TV is powered on and is ready to work He told me to unplug TV for 10 seconds at least. Then he had me press and hold down the "MENU and VOLUME DOWN (-)" buttons, at the same time for about 10 seconds. Then after 10 seconds of holding the 2 buttons down, he had me continue to hold the 2 buttons and press and let go of the power button. In other words after 10 seconds of holding down the volume down (-) and menu buttons, add the third button (power) and immediately let go of all 3 buttons, at the same time. It worked for me instantlynd hopefully it works for you!!!

My television is an AV3589S it was a hand me down from my husband's bar. it always had a little trouble with the sound (it would go out and i would hit it on the back just where it slopes down near the top and it would come back) this went on for about a year until i had my son in law hit it for me and then the tv went OUT. no light comes on it just clicks when the power button is pushed. After searching the internet. i found some advice on what might be wrong (one guy said that the IC602 and the C627 might need to be replaced) Here are my questions: How do i locate these parts in the jungle that is the back of my TV? and Once i do locate them how can i tell if they are bad and how do i remove then replace them properly? also i believe i have found the trouble with the sound (a set of wires from the speaker section were loose) ironic huh? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much,

I have the same exact problem with my JVC AV-32750. It's seven years old, but heck....the piece of crap tv I had as a kid in the 70s worked for almost 20 years without any problems at all. I also, will never by anything else made by JVC. Dan

Hi, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to whomever started this discussion and a BIG THANK YOU to the person or persons who replied with the fix. I also wanted to add that the mother board which is the main printed ciruit board has a (+) polarity mark on the component side. The capacitor that i purchased at Radio Shack had a longer lead on the (+) side, so the long lead gooes in the (+) and it also had a (-) on the side of the capacitor. If you have to disconnect the ribbon connectors from the board i would suggest taking a picutre with a digital camera or video recorder (why didnt i think of that when i was doing mine) so that you will know how to reconnect. Hint: all of the ribbon cables connect back up to the main board and most of them have a letter (ex. U,T, etc.) CAUTION: Use caution around the picture tube on any TV as it stores a HIGH VOLTAGE. I would suggest taking a air hose or leaf blower and blowing the dust out around the picture tube rather than trying to clean with a cloth.

I recently picked up a free one of these on a Friday night and had it working on Sunday. I changed the capacitor that several people referred to, #C926. I replaced it with the same 1000mF, 16V. Upon initial power up I heard a pop and thought there goes the fuse, but the the screen began to come to life. Now it is hooked up and has done good. Thanks to the tech info some of you passed on. I now have a good, free TV that's bigger than my old Sanyo.
