Re[5]: JVC Mini DV Camcorder

JB38 Posted Jan 09, 2008, in response to:Alan Brown

Replying via the web page (something I dont normally do) is highly restrictive, as problems of this nature really require e-mail type two way's as there are quite a few possible variables in what you are doing, however "if" you are using a scart plug adaptor with phono type sockets on it make sure its switch (if it has one) is set to CVBS. Another thing to do is verify that the video is coming out of the "yellow" socket on the adaptor, do this by playing a tape on the VCR and connecting a lead from the yellow socket to the corresponding phono on the TV, selecting that input socket on the TV after having removed the TV's scart, if there is nothing then the camcorder connection is liable to be OK and its the connection into the VCR at fault. Also when you say you have the leads for the job are they JVC issue types as supplied with the camcorder or are they possibly alternatives? some of these not necessarily designed for two way operation as they are generally designed as selectable scart "input" facilities, because your problem would suggest something like that applying, especially when its both audio and video affected.
