I have the same exact problem with mine.I took the back off,blew the dust off everything , but could not locate a vertical adjustment pot. After numerous searches ,I found nothing to explain the solution to the problem. I may try a TV repair place for some help.If I find out anything , I will post the results. In meantime , if you find out anything , please post for me. Thanks My TV is a JVC AV-2749S built in 1989. ps - Pretty annoying not to be able to see the scores down at the bottom or the top of the screen.
