Re[4]: Defective External Mic In Jack on VX1000

Jim Norman Posted Aug 17, 2007, in response to:Dave Turner

Dave, You should be able to do it. You need to remove the cover over the jack and then unplug a flat ribbon cable from the old pc board in order to install the new board. You need to be gentle with the cable as it can easily break. Jim

Thanks Jim! In my case the jack works, but only in mono. I read where some VX-1000's had a bad ground on that jack. Have you encountered this mono-only issue, or did you just have a broken jack? I'm assuming in my situation you would recommend replacing the board, correct? Sony wanted so much to repair this I couldn't believe it! Thanks so much for your help, Dave
