Any TV that does that (and not just JVC) is doing so because there is a heat related component breakdown which is causing the power unit to switch back to its standby state for safety reasons. I would not persevere in trying to get it to work, as at some point the auto shut down circuitry may possibly fail which can result in a series of components being damaged, rather than just the one thats liable to be the cause of the present problem. It really requires investigation by a TV technician.
