Randy I too have a similar model GR-D73EK which I have had from new and which worked perfectly well for about 14 months. I went to use it about 3 months ago and keep getting the same message. It plays okay, the tele lens moves okay in fact everything else appears to work except for taking video! I have read the manual and there is no buttons or settings to turn this thing off! Therefore I'm with you, if anyone could help, please do!
