I was having the same problem with my mums piece of c**p mp3 player. I followed the format fs/fat instructions as previously posted and it did something but said the file was too big. I then went back onto explore and formatted the player from there previously I had checked the quick format box and failed so I dont know whether it was the format in windows settings or the full format in explore but its working agin. My advice would be get an Ipod they are more expensive but a lot less hassle
