Home | First message in thread | Previous messageThat type of fault would strongly suggest a heat related component breakdown, which for safety reasons causes the power supply to shut back down into its standby mode. It could be absolutely anything that causes that although its most likely to be in the heavier power consuming circuits, and with JVC TV's it could well be centered around the vertical scanning circuit as they are notorious for faults in this area.

Thanks for the reply, I know it's impossible to say so without knowing the exact fault but how much do you think such a repair would cost? Given the age of the television would it better off to buy a new unit? |
