Re: JVC service or questions

Ladi Posted Apr 12, 2007, in response to:Stacy Sample

Hi, I've had a JVC AV-28WR2EK for 7 years and it has worked fine until recently. Now when the television is switched on it only lasts for about 5 minutes before it switches itself off into Standby mode? Switching it off and then back again causes it do the same thing?

That type of fault would strongly suggest a heat related component breakdown, which for safety reasons causes the power supply to shut back down into its standby mode. It could be absolutely anything that causes that although its most likely to be in the heavier power consuming circuits, and with JVC TV's it could well be centered around the vertical scanning circuit as they are notorious for faults in this area.
