I have fixed the problem. There are two things that you can try out:- (1) press the reset button on the right hand side of PC5E. (2) re-calibrate the touch screen. Press the [DISPLAY/TOUCH PANEL] button on the top right hand side of your PC5E and switch the PC5E to VCR mode. Then, on the LCD screen, you will see a cross appears on the top left corner of the screen. Use a soft pointer to point to the cross and another cross will appear in the centre. Use a pointer to point the cross when you see it on the LCD acreen. This will help the PC5E to calibrate the buttons. When it is done, your PC5E will be back to normal.

I have a similar problem with my 6-year old SONY DCR-PC5E. The touch screen did not seem working. Is there anythingto do with the humidity?
