Re: JVC AV-56WP74

Frank Posted Mar 23, 2007, in response to:Wade

I am in the process of working on my AV-48WP30. I replaced the STK's but found that resistor R862 looks as though it's heat damaged. From what I can tell on my model it's a 1.8 ohm. Since my TV is suffering from the same problem as before I replaced the STK's (the green was severly bowed top and bottom) and this resistor's circuit leads off to the green connector on the board I'm hoping this will be the fix. HTH.

I have the ohms value. I was wondering about the wattage. I ordered resistors from digikey and they sujested using 3 watt resistors. Replaced the stk chips with the 150's (was 110)replaced the 3 burnt out resistors and tried the tv. Within a few seconds the resistors glowed and burnt out again. Put the old stk chips back in and replaced the resistors again and tried that with the same results. Am going to try 1 watt resistors which I think they are. What do i have to lose? This is a good excuss to get a better tv I think.
