Re: JVC service or questions

Vanessa Posted Dec 22, 2006, in response to:Stacy Sample

Hi I'm having a problem with my JVC GR-D72 digital video camera...Every time i turn it on it says lens cap on when it is not on and the monitor shows a black sreen and i've used this for a total of 6 times the most...There is nothing in the manual that covers this..I've seen many people post this and they said to contact JVC and they should be able to fix it free of charge until october 2007, but they need a copy of the receipt? I bought this item 2 years ago and I definitely did not save the receipt. Could you please help me on this situation?? Thank you so much! Vanessa

JVC insists that you be able to show an original purchase receipt simply to stop dealers buying up faulty camcorders at knock down prices, getting them repaired free, then making the proverbial "quick buck". A credit card receipt is also acceptable to them. Its always a good idea to keep the purchase receipt (or other evidence of purchase) inside the box that the camcorder originally came in, this also being convenient for sending it safely back for repair, like for the image sensor replacement.
