I also have a DSC-W1 with two problems...

1. The battery door will no longer latch (I dropped it on hardwood floors) Currently, a good ol' rubberband is holding it together quite all right.

2. The zoom will not work - I get the same "Turn the power off and on again" but still the zoom will not close. When I do get it to work, I have to be directly on the object to get a decent focus. the WT no longer displays.

What do I need to purchase?
Where/Who do I send it to?
but most importantly, HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?? Will it be best to buy a new camera?

  Fixing 2 problems is probably cost prohibitive unless you really like your camera.
