I have just had this problem with my GR-D53AA after the battery went flat on me. I believe that the configuration was corupted when the battery went flat. I tried numerous menu resets that didnt fix the problem. I went through the menus and toggled all the settings to try and clear the fault and my camera is now working OK. I dont know what I did to fix the problem. I have been trying to find out if there is a factory reset option that will fix this problem if I experience it again.
