Re: av-27d302 jvc 27

Mark Posted Aug 03, 2006, in response to:vinny valenziano

Try this... Just had an AV-27850 (for google, I'll add AV27850) pull up dead. Searched, found this site, ran to radio shack and -presto- TV works again. I am absolutely astonished that, with this many identical failures, JVC doesn't admit a design fault. I am an Electrical Engineer and would be embarassed by an obvious design failure like this. BTW, the 1000uF cap is still C926 in the 850 series as well and it is located near the middle of the board (a little to the right of center when looking from the rear of the TV). There is a + indicator on the bottom of the PCB if you don't pay attention to how the cap came out ;) . Also, my cap didn't look puckered at all and there was no discoloration on the board itself, but it was obviously the problem. Give this fix a whirl even if you think the cap looks good. Adam Thought I would add some search terms at the bottom of this to cover the 850 series as well. JVC AV-32850 AV32850 AV-36850 AV36850 JVC TV problems JVC TV turns off immediately JVC TV wont turn on JVC TV wont power on JVC TV broken

hi mark: thankx for the reply. i just got around to taking the set apart. i replaced the fuse for starters, but it still does the same thing. i recently dismantled another jvc set. when i pulled the circuit board out all the control buttons fell out. i did not have the patience to even try to put it back together again. this time i learned my lesson. i am not even going to try to replace a capacitor!!!!! i was just looking for a big screen tv with a s-video jack so i could test out a dell computer i just installed a graphics card in. thankx for your help. your pal, vinnyval
