my sony ipod, it can'tplay amv/mp3 songs

In my mp4 i can play only 21 songs; whenever i want to save more songs in this it can not load more songs ,a few songs can be saved but it will play nothing & offed itself. Here with this i can listen only the FM radio & recorded voices.Besides these it can not response to the other files such as amv,photo& etc.so,what should i do. please give me the best solution to overcome these problems.
