ham; sorry I can't help you there. bought same camera 2 yrs ago and had to go to computer shop for them to get and install something called FireWire card and cable. They recommended diff video editor than supplied with camc. Don't know what brand or anything, since I don't touch inside of these itty bitty machines. Editor name is Ulead Video Studio 7. The jvc 820u works great and the software is easy to use for various editing. Very good camera for $300, used. Remote not easy to understand, but who needs it. Better see a computer shop.
