Pls help me out. I bought a video cam JVC model GR-D250AG and the person said that i need a firewire to import my video to my computer. Although my computer doesn't have a firewire port but i bought a firewirecable link with a usb cable together and by using the usb connector i plug in my pc and it doesn't detect anything...i would like to check out isit a must to use a firewire inorder to import my video to my computer??? why can't a firewire together with a usb link can't ???

    You need to find out if you have USB 1 or USB 2 capability. USB 1 is only used for photo transfers. USB 2 is fast enough for video transfer just as firewire is. If you don't have a current PC system with USB 2 capability...that may be your problem. Also, if your PC came with a video program..that program may or may not work with the camcorder. Sometimes you have to buy a program (eg: Pinnacle Studio 9) for video transfer capabilities.
