Home | Previous messageHi, I'm writing in hopes you can possibly help me out by at least pointing me in the right direction. To begin with,we purchased a JVC HD big screen 2 years ago with 1500 dollars cash at tax time. It's worked fine until recently.the other morning we turned it on and it now has red wavy lines running across the screen in parallel sets from top to bottom. This was about a week ago.I turned it on yesterday to mess around with it and it now has a blue section across the top also. We've perused the help forums trying to find a answer for this problem and apparently everybody that bought this same model is having the same problem in the same timeframe. And of course, everybody says no one wants to work on JVC sets anyway.I sent a email to consumer reports and a fairly nasty one to JVC about this matter.I've heard back from consumer reports(basically told me theres nothing they can do)but of course not from JVC yet.Oh,the model number btw is AV-48wp34 in the JVC I Art pro series. Needless to say,we are very frustrated about this whole situation. To pay that much money for something and have it last only 2 years is not very pleasing. So,maybe you've heard about this and know which part needs to be changed?I've heard that some parts on this model cost as much as the tv itself! But anyway, any advice help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. It would at least get us going in the right direction.Sorry this is so long, thank you for your time. Thank you very much, Scott Kaiser

It is this easy! I went ahead and upgraded to the 150 IC's..it took me an hour drive to get the 2 parts (cost me like 25 bucks). I took the Convergence board out by opening the front panel, its right there. Label your wire harnesses, the second one from the left stays on the board and unhooks from the other side. Since I can not solder very good, took the board and the new IC's to the local TV shop and had them do it for me (another 25 bucks). THANK YOU Very Much! You need one or both of the convergence IC's STK392-110 readily available. Remove the front bottom panel and the convergence board is right there, pops out change IC's and probable a done deal. Please email me the convergence setup from your owners manual. Please let me know what worked, as I have the same problem after not quite two years. Thanks |
