Sorry, I posted this in the wrong area earlier. Hope this is the right spot.
Hello,
I have a nine-year-old JVC 32" TV, model AV-32720. A week ago the video developed a case of shaky image and horizontal black lines on all video inputs and channels. Sometimes it fixes itself and snaps back into crystal clarity; other times it goes forever, sort of bouncing (but not rolling) up and down. Turning the TV off and on doesn't help, but a VERY gentle tap on the side of the case (either side, middle/top/bottom) can often stabilize the image back into perfect shape.
Initial turn-on of the set usually presents a good image. Five minutes or less presents the vertical shakes, so I'll tap and restore the image. A few cycles of that -- maybe 10 minutes into it -- generally stabilizes the image "permenantly" for that viewing until I shut it off again.
I yanked off the back and blew some of the collected dust out of the guts. Putting it back together resulted in a stable image for several days. Now we're back again to the liney-shakey-shakes and me playing gentle bongo on the TV.
Any ideas at all? Do you think this is repairable? I'd love to keep the set. It's been great.
