I just finished fixing my Sony DRV-TRV120. The sony Error code says moisture I dried mine for months, Pulled all batteried and it still didnt work. I seriously left my camera in its bag Several Silica Gel bags in it (Remeber to NOT eat) for at least 2-3 months and it still did not work. I was looking to buy a new camera and thought I would look one more time for help. I found it!!! The solution to fix this problem was very hard and takes along time to fix LOL....just kidding The site says to turn off and remove all batteries and HIT the camera. I removed all batteries and hit the camera once with an open palm on the bottom of the camera. Gave it power and turned it on and NO MORE ERROR... I am not suggesting that you abuse your camera, try to dry it out and/or seek out Sony support and/or Warranty. This link has more people talking about this and other errors. Check it out. http://www.globalmediapro.com/av/messages/135625-3.html I have a Birthday party tomorrow so I am going to try this camera out fully tomorrow. I will give you more details after :)

I just tried that method on my CCD-TRV15 and low and behold it worked. After taking it to an electronics repair shop and numerous hours searching the internet , I can't believe it is working!!! YES!! It totally worked!! This made my day! I freakin can't believe it!!! Hitting the bottom of the camcorder worked on my camera! I got the same error, took the battery out, unplugged it and hit it firmly and it started working perfectly. Go figure.. Unreal!!! This was an amazing find! Thank you for sharing it. cheers for the tip! worked immediately after a small slap on the side ;-) sony have a habit of doing this to their cameras - had a similar problem with a z1 once which also just needed a tap to get it back on track. thanks again. Thanks! I didn`t believe it. It works. How did you find this solution? you are a genius! It worked for me and I have been looking for a solution for months!! Thank you. At first I thought you were joking... but I was wrong! I have a DCR-TR32E PAL. (Australian)This unit stopped working three years ago with a faulty moisture warning code. This camera has a long work history. I did as you did... turned it off, removed the battery and gave it a smack with the open hand - hard on the bottom of the unit and the damn thing worked immediately. It was like something from a Laurel and Hardy movie. Thanks ... I have my old camera back again. Regards Chris I had the same issue with my Sony DCR PC9. Chstted online with Sony support who instructed that I power on the camera, and press the Reset button. But I kept having the same problem. Then I took the tape out AND the sony memory card. Unplugged power, removed battery, plugged power back in, powered on - NO MORE ERROR!!! I'll keep the palm whack idea in back pocket in case this error comes up again. Good luck to you all. Thanks for the info... I took my camcorder to Cocoa Beach to record the last Space Shuttle night launch (STS-126). When I turned it on, C:21:00. Followed the directions above this morning and viola!! Sure wish I had done this Friday morning before the shuttle launch... |
