Re[6]: JVC service or questions

Peevi I also picked up a JVC PWM303 powered sub for a THM303 system. Mine has an 8 pin mini din. Any luck finding the pinouts for yours. If as John says they are analog it should be easy to hookup a cable to the connector. I am going to risk taking mine apart and see what there is inside. It seems to me that the THM303 receiver had 700 watts of power which would lead me to beleive that the satelite speakers (front, rear and centre) would be powered by the receiver. Any thoughts you have would be helpful.

PanamaRed,
I did exactly the same. Since I could not find out any circuit or any other service material, I opened up the box. It looks like the DIN connector also controls the power to the amplifier. It also appears that they use some custom part number from Sanyo for the power amplifier section. Obviously, not a very good choice for using it like a power sub woofer by itself. It appears it does need the JVC THM system
... so far, that's all the thoughts I have. Now, since I have the box open, am thinking of using a different amplifier section and use the sub speakers at least!!
