This is a function of the closed caption circuit available for future use called text mode. Simply press close the caption button on the TV remote until the square disappears. If your TV doesn’t have the closed caption button on the remote you will need to do the following: 1. Bring up the menu and highlight closed caption. 2. Press the Volume + button to access this menu. 3. When you enter this menu it will say Mode Text. 4. Press the Volume + button until it says Mode Off. 5. Then press the Channel – button and highlight Finish. 6. Then press the Volume + button to save your settings.
