Re[4]: JVC service or questions

Rosie Days Posted Jan 23, 2006, in response to:Shawn King

Hi Shawn King, We were given your message by Pechorin concerning the Lens Cap problem. When we asked about the same problem with our JVS Camcorder after less than 2 years use, we received two replies from others who referred us to the JVS website which has posted the information we pasted on this message below. But first we want to let you know that after contacting JVC though the telephone listed, they advised us to send our unit UPS to NJ for free repairs. We were contacted by the NJ center notifying us that in addition to the free replacement of the defective CCD Image Sensor (lens problem)they discovered a needed repair on the drum which we authorized them to repair at a cost of approx. $75. Within 2 weeks of sending in the unit we had it returned to us working like new. We are assuming that you are in USA and can call this number. Our replies had come from UK and France. *********************** Notice Regarding Camcorders JVC has received reports that in certain circumstances, a small quantity of units of the models listed below, may, while in the camera mode, show no picture, a distorted picture and/or display “LENS CAP” even though the lens cap is removed. We have identified the cause as a failure of the CCD image sensor. Until October 1, 2007, repairs of units exhibiting these problems will be made free of charge at JVC Factory Service Centers. Click thisFactory Service Center link to find your nearest location. Please call (800) 858-6442 if you need any assistance in obtaining a free repair. We apologize for any inconvenience and are appreciative of your understanding and support. Model Numbers VHS-C Camcorders GR-AX880US, GR-AX890US, GR-AXM151US, GR-SXM161US, GR-SXM250US. HI I have a problem with my JVC GR-D73U camcorder, it seems to have a CCD sensor problem, it may work properly sometimes, but it randomly starts to malfunction having screen glitches or displays total darkness. I'm from Bolivia, and I couldn't find a JVC service center at all... Please let me know if you have information about this problem and what can I do to fix it. Thanks for your cooperation, I would really appreciate some help. Regards, Gabriel.
