Hi Shawn King,
We were given your message by Pechorin concerning the Lens Cap problem. When we asked about the same problem with our JVS Camcorder after less than 2 years use, we received two replies from others who referred us to the JVS website which has posted the information we pasted on this message below. But first we want to let you know that after contacting JVC though the telephone listed, they advised us to send our unit UPS to NJ for free repairs. We were contacted by the NJ center notifying us that in addition to the free replacement of the defective CCD Image Sensor (lens problem)they discovered a needed repair on the drum which we authorized them to repair at a cost of approx. $75.
Within 2 weeks of sending in the unit we had it returned to us working like new. We are assuming that you are in USA and can call this number. Our replies had come from UK and France.
