Lens Cap error message.

When I try to record I get an error message telling me that the len's cap is on. So I can't record anything although the Lens cap is not on. Cam plays vid but wont record. Can anyone help before it goe's in the bin. And never buy JVC again. Had Cam for about 2.5yrs only used it about 5hrs in record time. Thanx for reading this and I hope someone out there can help.

Have exactly the same problem as you with the same model of camera, was told this is a common fault with the JVC camcorder. I've had this one about 2 years also, if this as done 2 hours recording that's it. I will never buy JVC again
