Sorry, I haven't kept up with the forum... but I called JVC on Wednesday, August 17 and got my replacement bulb on Friday morning, the 19th. I was excited to have a tv again so I took the old bulb out to replace it but it wasn't busted. I put it back in and powered it up and everything worked perfectly. I've had no problems since and still have the replacement bulb for later.
I work at an electronics store and I've sold around five of this JVC model. Two of these customers have had bulbs go out, one of which brought the tv back (because JVC refused to help them) and got the Sony 50" 3LCD projo. Our JVC rep came in and dismissed the bulb issue and said that a bulb going out within the first few months is very rare unless you unplug the television before it has a chance to cool down.
In my case, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. My D-ILA is doing fine and I have a replacement bulb on hand. Good luck with everyone else, though.
