HomeBlown Bulb on new television I've had my JVC about two months with no problems...until this morning. The power light and lamp light began rapidly blinking simultaneously and the tv wouldn't turn on. I called JVC service and they are sending me a replacement bulb but how do I keep this from happening again? Everything was hooked up correctly and I'm hoping it's not normal for the bulb to go out after 250 hours of use. Any ideas?

Sorry, I haven't kept up with the forum... but I called JVC on Wednesday, August 17 and got my replacement bulb on Friday morning, the 19th. I was excited to have a tv again so I took the old bulb out to replace it but it wasn't busted. I put it back in and powered it up and everything worked perfectly. I've had no problems since and still have the replacement bulb for later. I work at an electronics store and I've sold around five of this JVC model. Two of these customers have had bulbs go out, one of which brought the tv back (because JVC refused to help them) and got the Sony 50" 3LCD projo. Our JVC rep came in and dismissed the bulb issue and said that a bulb going out within the first few months is very rare unless you unplug the television before it has a chance to cool down. In my case, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. My D-ILA is doing fine and I have a replacement bulb on hand. Good luck with everyone else, though. Jason Same thing, had the TV since 1/20/05 and am on the second Bulb, Two weeks without a TV every 4 months in not acceptable. Demand a recall. i bought mine on 3/24/05 brought back to store when i found out of the recall on it. got a new one on 3/31/05 bulb burnt out in june and now again in oct. i think this is a problem and i cant get jvc to do anything about it. Had the exact same thing happen. JVC sending a new bulb as well. Did that fix the problem? Had my TV for about 4 months. |
