hi! i had the same problem with my slv-e700, suddenly this summer the vcr didn't get power anymore. so i followed the instructions here and replaced not only the 2 1uf capacitors on the mitsumi board but also the other two (a 1000uf and a 2200uf capacitor). the good news is: power is back and i can switch the vcr on and off. the bad news: everything else is still not working. the display stays dark, beside off the leds of the on/off switch none of the leds is burning and the vcr still doesn't show any function. the jog dial must have got back some function as well, since the typical double beep sounds, if i press "play" or turn it to "forward" or "rewind" - no wonder, there's no cassette in the vcr ;-) - but that's it. what can i do next to try to make my vcr working again? :-( steffen
