I have had the same problem with downloading from my GR-D31EK. Dell say it is due to an incorrect driver...the firewire has been changed twice and the camera appears to function correctly according to Dixons. Let me know if you have managed to find a solution as my problem sounds identical and I am running out of ideas. Thanks.
