The same thing happened to me today also. Someone threw it out of my hand and I don't know what to do to fix it. Any help here? Do i have to get a new camera? Because I really don't want to spend $300. :(

Hello, I also have the problem "turn the power on and off again" I had the problem originally while my camera was still under warranty, and sony fixed it for me. however now it's not, and I'm wondering if there's any other way to fix it?? do you know of a solution?

HI Alex,
Just came across this thread and have the same problem with a DSC-P150 with the lens sticking and turning off the camera.
I would be very greatful if you are able to point me in the right direction.

Hi,
I recently dropped a camera and the lens was out and is now on a slight angle and i get the please turn off and then on again message, could I please have a quote for how much it would cost to repair.
