Re: Sony DSC MVC camera repairs

Twm Posted Sep 27, 2005, in response to:Alex

I just dropped my DSC-V1 while the zoom lense was out. Now the zoom seems to have become fixed and when i switch the power on it makes a clicking noise as it attempts to close the lense. Eventually it gives up and a message on the screen says "turn power off and on again". I guess that some cog or other got damanged when the camera hit the floor. Is there anything that can be done?

The same thing happened to me today also. Someone threw it out of my hand and I don't know what to do to fix it. Any help here? Do i have to get a new camera? Because I really don't want to spend $300. :(

I have the same problem. My camera was dropped and now the lens won't close when the camera is off and the zoom is stuck. I have a DSC-P150. Any estimate on around how much it would cost to have it repaired? Thanks.

Same problem with a Sony P73 camera. Dropped today while the zoom was out. Now a grinding noise, then message to turn on/off? Might this be repairable? Any estimate? Thanks
