Matt,
* I had the same problem on my Panasonic Home Theater - it happened just yesterday 11/24/05. Here's how I fixed it. First, I disconnected the unit from everything (especially the power) and placed in on a workbench. Ignoring all the warnings in the manual and on the case, I removed the 4 screws on the side of the case and the 2 screws on the back of the case and removed the case. I then could access the disk drive. I plugged the power cable into the unit and turned it on. The disk wasn't spinning - that's why the unit thought there was no disk. I reached down with my finger and gave the disk a little spin. The motor kicked in and the disk started spinning like it should. I turned it off and on a few times to see if it would still work and it did. I replaced the cover and screws and hooked it all back up. It works just fine now. If you decide to try what I did just remember not to touch anything that looks like it could give you a shock.
Good Luck,
Nick
